 Touch the sky & Testify

Uno

Our friend Sara liked to say our honey ‘tastes like an adventure”. She would pause, screw up her face, and say, “ … it tastes like a walk through your woods”, - those fiesta lights of hers brightening - then she would add, “.. through the wildflowers ,”- her head slightly swaying as if it was a flower in the wind, dancing with the other flowers, “…. through the apple orchards,” - … as if she was experiencing it again, was a bee herself, or a child - recapturing that clarity of first-times. Then, having completed her special-delivery truth-birth from the depths of her soul, less dramatic than simply uncensored, she would laugh with the bluebells. It was mirth with a touch of rue. Giving in to joy, but sound checking her own enthusiasm; self-consciousness still hovering nearby, a soldier on duty; a guardian, sometimes a jailer. An invisible chaperone a lot of women know, rarely sure it’s safe. Safe to be real. This time, she lets the laughing win. Her eyes clear - Right, I would think - Why pretend to be a normal. Normals can’t turn into bees. Normals can’t experience anything that deeply or think that clearly. And we can still fly planes, and do math too.

That’s one Testify. Sara’s.

Another is ours for the world inside of her. Oh, Sara. So much to say, to do, to be -

We miss you -

You needed a safe space to be the adventure you are.

Our friend Maggie says one of our wetlands is a bowl kissing the sky. That’s a ‘My Oh My’ Testify!

We testify that Queen Bees are also women who who work together - whether they’re funny women, mad artists or those just trying to get by by - We salute you - All Queens, all Jack of hearts, all busy bees, all travelers who can wear black and yellow striped scarves, and never drone (on) -

All those in need of revival, and looking to pollinate the very best for all the rest -

All those sweet as honey, with a bit of tang.
